Privacy Policy

What I collect, why I collect it, and what I do with it. Short version: I use it to run I Wash Pants and tell you about it. I don’t sell it. Draft · Last updated September 24, 2026

Review before launchThis page is a draft structure written in plain language. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Sections marked like this must be finalized before I Wash Pants accepts any orders.

What I collect

When you fill in the interest form: your name, email address and ZIP code, plus your answers about your pants, how often you'd use the service, why, and what you'd expect to pay.

When you use the contact form or email me: your name, email address and whatever you write.

Automatically: standard technical information your browser sends to any website, such as IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is recorded in server logs. If the page you arrived from includes campaign tags (like utm_source), those are saved with your form submission so I know which channels work.

How I use it

  • To decide whether, where and at what price to launch the service.
  • To email you about the launch, early access and offers, if you ticked the box that asks for that.
  • To reply to your messages.
  • Once ordering opens: to process orders, ship pants and handle any issues.

Your pants survey answers may be summarized in aggregate, for example "most people send jeans," including publicly. Individual answers are never published with your name attached.

Who it’s shared with

I don't sell your personal information. I share it only with services that help run the business, such as website hosting, email delivery and customer relationship management (CRM) software, and only as needed for them to do that job. When ordering opens, shipping carriers will receive the names and addresses needed to deliver pants.

I may disclose information if required by law.

Emails and unsubscribing

If you join The Pants List, you'll get emails about the launch and offers. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask me to remove you at any time. I don't send text messages.

Cookies and analytics

The site currently doesn't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Your browser may store small amounts of data to make the site work, such as remembering an unsent form.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws.

Review before launchConfirm which state privacy laws apply at launch scale and add any required disclosures (for example, California).

How long I keep it

Interest form responses are kept while I'm evaluating and running the service, and for as long as you stay on The Pants List. If you ask me to delete your information, I will, except where I need to keep a record for legal or accounting reasons.

Security

Form submissions are sent over an encrypted connection and stored with access limited to the people running I Wash Pants. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from them.

A note on testimonials

The testimonials shown on this site are fictional. The people named in them do not exist, and the quotes were made up. See the Terms of Service.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change too. Significant changes affecting how your information is used will be emailed to The Pants List.
