What could cost more
I'd rather tell you now. These are the situations where a pair may cost more than its tier price. Exact amounts will be set before launch, and you'll always be told before extra work is done.
- Extreme soiling or odor that needs more than one cleaning cycle or a long pre-soak.
- Heavy stain work beyond reasonable standard treatment.
- Special Pants above the starting price, such as heavily embellished, very delicate or unusually constructed garments.
- Bulky pants, like insulated snow pants, which take up a machine on their own.
Why these numbers
Why $10?
Because each pair is handled individually, washed only with your other pants, dried carefully, folded properly and packed by hand. That takes longer than dropping a bag at a wash-and-fold, and I'm pricing for the time it actually takes.
I also might be wrong. That's what the form is for. It asks what you'd expect to pay, and I'm reading every answer.

How much does it cost?
Tentatively, Everyday Pants are $10 a pair and Special Pants start at $25 a pair. Shipping is separate. These numbers are still being tested, so they may change before launch. See pricing.
Who pays shipping?
You pay to send the pants.
You also pay for the pants to come home.
The pants contribute nothing financially.
Can I send several pairs?
Please do.
3 or more pairs in one order receive 10% off the cleaning cost. It's called Pants Like Company. Shipping several pairs in one box is also cheaper per pair than shipping one pair at a time.
Is there a loyalty program?
There is a loyalty offer. Wash 10 pairs, and your next 5 pairs are 50% off cleaning.

Why does shipping cost what it costs?
Because carriers charge by weight and size, and jeans are heavier than people expect. A single pair of jeans usually weighs between one and two pounds. A box of five is not light. I'll publish packing guidance that keeps boxes small, because a small box is the only discount I can offer on shipping.
Will you provide a shipping label?
The plan is to offer a prepaid label option at checkout so you don't need to go to a counter, as well as letting you ship however you like. The details are part of the ordering system that isn't live yet.
Do I have to pay now?
No. There is nothing to pay for yet. Joining The Pants List is free and commits you to nothing, least of all mailing pants.
