I apparently wash pants now.

Almost everything can be outsourced now. Groceries arrive at the door. Dinner arrives at the door. Someone will walk your dog, assemble your furniture and stand in line for you.

And yet, every week, millions of people still stand in front of a washing machine holding a pair of jeans, asking themselves whether these really need to be washed yet.

I noticed that. I kept noticing it. Eventually I noticed it enough to wonder what would happen if that question simply went away.

Full-service laundry already exists, of course. Wash-and-fold, pickup and delivery, dry cleaners. But they all want everything. Shirts, towels, sheets, socks. I wanted to test the most unnecessarily specific version of the idea possible.

So here it is.

Send me your pants. I'll deal with them.

Why only pants

Because pants are where laundry gets difficult. They're the heavy part of the basket. They're the part with a dozen different fabrics and a care label nobody reads. Jeans need different handling from wool trousers, which need different handling from leggings. Doing one garment category properly seemed more interesting than doing every category adequately.

Also, and I want to be honest here, the name was available.

Why I'm asking first

This business depends entirely on one question: will people actually mail their pants to someone? I don't know yet. So instead of opening for orders and hoping, I'm asking. I wrote about why.

What I'm not

I'm not a giant laundry company. There is no team page because there is no team. There is one person, reading care labels with more attention than anyone has ever asked of them.

I'm not going to claim decades of experience, a certification I don't hold, or a facility I don't have. Pants that need professional dry cleaning go to a professional cleaner. When there's more to say, like where the pants are washed, who else is washing them, and what equipment is involved, I'll put it on this page.
